The first International Conference on Comprehensive System of Credit Assessment

Organized by: Iran Credit Scoring(ICS), Ministry of Economics and finance affairs, central bank of Iran, Central Insurance of Iran, Iranian banks, Financial Institutions,  insurance and leasing companies.

Target Audience: All those active in the credit reporting industry, such as credit bureau executives, credit information providers, executives from banks, financial institutions, insurance and leasing companies, retail and other users of credit information and decision analytics tools, as well as government and legislative representatives.

  • Overview:

Credit Information sharing and credit information reporting has been expanded in recent years and the number of the private credit bureaus has been increased especially in the developing countries. Credit bureaus have a significant impact on the facilitating lending process by decreasing credit granting constrains and speeding up the credit grating process with paradigm shift toward credit scoring based lending technologies and unsecured financing. In the other hand, it has some more impacts on the engineering and development of the credit culture in a country.

Islamic Republic of Iran adopted innovative approaches to the establishment of credit reporting agency in the name of Iran credit scoring company (with the participation of all banks and big insurance and leasing companies of Iran) where public sector played a crucial role through its regulatory powers.

This conference provided an opportunity to learn from experiences of creditinfo company in different countries, reporting the works done by Iran Credit Scoring in implementation of Credit Bureau system and its plans to submit other related value added products and services,transfer the knowledge of credit reporting and scoring, discuss the future of the public-private cooperation in this area of financial infrastructure, and present technological solutions to address specific challenges in Iran.

The conference gathered Iranian policy makers, practitioners in the area of credit reporting and regulators and banking and insurance industries' specialists to provide a forum for participants to discuss credit reporting best practices, and to share experiences in implementing the credit reporting industry in the said industries. In addition, the conference created a forum for IT, credit and risk management experts, policymakers and financial education advocates to share their experience and brainstorm on the ways to promote responsible lending practices.

  •  Goals:

-          Defining methods of credit culture improvement in the society through implementation of Credit Bureau System.

-          Defining of basic concepts, characteristics and fundamentals of credit reporting, credit scoring and credit rating and its relation with justice, efficiency, cost saving, acceleration and society satisfaction in access to finance for banking and insurance companies.

-          Giving global experiences and best practices in modern technologies usage in credit reporting field toward optimal allocation of banking resources for economic development and growth and having supervisory systems for preventing allocation of resources toward nonproductive sections.

-          Giving global experiences and best practices in preparing infrastructures for credit reporting, credit scoring and credit rating in order to diminish defaults (including legal frameworks, technical and IT infrastructures and training of human recourses).

-          Defining the role of credit information in banks' credit management and its relation with Basel II principals.

-          Defining the role of supervisory authorities and institutions such as Economics and Finance Ministry, Central Bank and Central Insurance in developing new approaches in credit reporting and rating.

-          Defining the role of credit information in increasing access to finance and credit for end consumers such as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and poor people.

-          Providing training and cultural strategies toward increasing active and volunteer participation of banks and their customers in credit reporting, credit scoring and credit rating process.

-          Assessing Credit Bureau system implementation solutions and improving existing challenges and pitfalls.

Radek is responsible for the management of Credit Bureau projects in several countries (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Iran, Moldova, Georgia, Malta). His experience with Credit Bureau solutions lasts more than 8 years. He graduated on the University of Economics in Prague with  specialization in Information Technologies and System Integration. Then he became one of builders of the first Credit Bureau on Czech and Slovak market (Czech Banking Credit Bureau, Czech Non Banking Credit Bureau, Slovak Banking Credit Bureau) like a member of CCB – Czech Credit Bureau company. He worked there for 5 years; as soon as Creditinfo Group came on Czech market, he joined this company where he worked as a Project Manager for international projects for 3 years. After opening the Czech branch of CIG he started to work at Creditinfo Solutions company (CIS) and now he is the leader of the Credit Bureau team dedicated for all CIS international projects.

Jan Denemark
Chief Operating Officer Creditinfo Solutions

Graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, with a specialization in Information Technologies and System Integration. Already during his studies, he worked in companies operating in the IS/IT field, oriented towards providing application software and information sources for supporting decision-making. He is focused on risk management solutions from 2000. He has been working in Creditinfo Solutions since its establishment and before that he worked as the Director of the company SinTe which was later incorporated into the Creditinfo Group. In his managerial position, he is responsible for the operational management of the company, as well as the management of affiliated companies in the Ukraine and Kazakhstan. His main goal is supporting continuous development and the growth of the healthy and effective company Creditinfo Solutions, strengthening its position in the Czech Republic and its ongoing advancement on the markets abroad. He is now responsible for international sales of Credit Bureau Solution.

Paul Randall

Managing Director Creditinfo Decision

Paul Randall is a senior figure within the Global Credit Industry with 22 years experience working across 30+ countries. His current role is to drive the Consultancy and Scoring division of the Creditinfo Group to deliver outstanding solutions to Credit Bureau and direct to Financial Institutions and other credit grantors. He first experienced credit scoring as an analyst and then credit manager in UK Banks and finance organizations.  He then worked as a consultant managing the Credit Bureau scores in a number of countries.  Furthermore, he has worked on projects which have provided improved decision capabilities to Banks in countries as diverse as Canada, South Korea, Kazakhstan and South Africa.  In recent years a focus on the global Basel II regulation has involved heading projects to fully re-engineer the credit risk management process of major banks.

Filip Trojan

Operations Director Creditinfo Decision

More than 10 years of experience in credit risk management. Skilled in portfolio management, scorecard development, credit policy, process review and project management. His professional Experience contains the following: Credit Risk Manager for HSBC consumer finance business responsible for Czech Republic and Slovakia for 2 years, Head of Scoring department in eBanka (now Raiffeisen) for 3 years,  Statistician – analyst of credit risk in Komerční banka for 4 years. Highlights: Development of scorecards in Czech Republic for consumer and commercial portfolios, implementation of scoring in international Czech based bank, portfolio management experience in the multi product international competitive banking environment, responsible for Czech Republic and Slovakia consumer finance credit risk for two years.
